You're reading: Cabinet: Gambling business unlikely to be licensed

The Cabinet of Ministers has excluded gambling from the list of economic activities, which can be licensed.

This is read in the Cabinet of Ministers resolution No.14 of Jan. 6.

The government also excluded the organization and maintenance of gambling establishments from the list of licensed types of economic activity.

The relevant amendments have been introduced into the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution No.1698 of Nov. 14, 2000.

Besides, the government amended the resolution No.1755 of Nov. 29, 2000, having excluded gambling business from the list of economic activity, whose licensing is paid.

In compliance with these amendments, the estimation of the rate of risk will be provided regarding the activity on the issuance and holding of lotteries.

The amendments made are linked to the legislative restriction for gambling business.

As earlier reported, on May 15, 2009, the Verkhovna Rada banned gambling on the territory of settlements within Ukraine.
