Ukrainians can file suits in court if they have been injured on streets because the municipal services failed to clear snow and ice from the roads, Justice Minister Mykola Onischuk has said at a press conference in Kyiv on Jan. 26.

According to him, at present the Justice Ministry has no information on such suits, but the raising of this issue is possible, "if a worsening of health was caused by the improper fulfillment of duties by the municipal services."

"It is quite possible that such suits may be lodged in the Ukrainian courts. The citizens of Ukraine have the right to protect their health if this was caused by improper fulfillment of duties by the municipal services," Onischuk said.
