Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has said she plans to simplify the state registration of entrepreneurs, in particular, to implement electronic registration and record keeping, as well as create regulations for the development of the handicraft industry in depressed regions of Ukraine.

The relevant address entitled "Yulia Tymoshenko: Protecting the rights of entrepreneurs" was posted on the official Web site of the head of the government.

"In conditions of crisis, our government took an unprecedented step: We stopped a huge number of checks in 2009. The opposition from the controlling agencies was huge, and I think, you also appreciated this. But we will not stop at this. I will do everything in the future so as to prohibit or reduce as much as possible the number of checks and even to eliminate practically half of controlling agencies under the new authorities," reads the report.

Tymoshenko said she plans to simplify the state registration of entrepreneurs and to implement electronic registration system.

At the same time, she said that her government had paid attention to such a big sector of the entrepreneurship as the handicraft industry.

According to the premier, the effective development of the handicraft industry will help resolve a number of social and economic problems in the regions, create new jobs, revive ethnic and cultural traditions, fill local budgets, and would support regional development.

"We have already begun to form a regulatory basis of state support for the handcraft industry and develop the infrastructure of handicraft industry sites (handicraft centers, houses)," Tymoshenko said.

The premier also published an action plan aimed at making it easier to conduct entrepreneurial activities.
