Executive committee of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) approved Miron Markevich, head coach of the football club Metallist Kharkiv, for head coach of Ukraine's national soccer team, Ukrainian News has learned from a spokesman for the FFU press service.

"Markevich approved for head coach," the press service spokesman said.

In his words, corresponding decision was made in course of a meeting of the FFU executive committee on Monday.

Markevich although continues managing FC Metallist.

Yurii Kalitvintsev is approved as assistant head coach.

The decision was passed unanimously.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine in November 2009 yielded to Greece in the play-off series, losing its right to play in the final match of the 2010 world football championship.
