Ancient barrow illegally transferred to farmers in Crimea
Feb 3, 2010 at 14:37 | Interfax-UkraineOfficials of the district department transferred to a private person a land plot where the archeological monument - a barrow dated between 3,000 BC and the 12th century AD - is located and secured by law, the press service of the Crimean prosecutor's office reported on Tuesday.
"The actions of the officials, which permitted the privatization of the land without a field investigation and establishing the borders of a site of historical and cultural importance, were qualified in line with part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the conclusions made by the Crimean institute of archeology, losses totaled Hr 600,000," the press service of the Crimean prosecutor's office reported.
