Update: Seven clergymen die in traffic accident in Kharkiv region
Feb 9, 2010 at 16:07 | Interfax-UkraineAt around 2200 on Feb. 8 a Mercedes Benz-312 minibus collided head on with a DAF 95 Fx-430 truck not far from the village of Myroshnykivka, Kolomak district, Kharkiv region, on the 397th kilometer of Kyiv - Kharkiv - Dovzhansky highway, the press service of the Ministry for Emergency Situations said.
Interior Ministry Press Secretary Larysa Volkova told Kharkiv Web site MediaPort that all passengers of the bus apart from the driver, were wearing clerical clothing. The documents, found at the scene, indicated that the victims are residents of Chernivtsi.
At the same time, the press secretary of Kharkiv eparchy Vyacheslav Potapov said the bus passengers were pilgrims - priests and novices from Chernivtsi eparchy. They were en route to the Sviatohorsky Monastery.
According to Channel 5, the representatives of the Chernivtsi eparchy have left for the scene to identify the bodies.
At the same time, several other media reports said that three of the victims were clergymen, and four laymen.
