Kyiv, February 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in a telephone conversation has congratulated Viktor Yanukovych on his election as president of Ukraine.
Yanukovych’s official Web site reported this on Monday.
"Your victory shows that you enjoy the confidence of the people. Libya and Ukraine have great potential for cooperation. We hope to attract Ukrainian investments into the economy of Libya. Our countries are friends, partners and allies," Gaddafi said.
In turn, Yanukovych thanked for the greetings and invited Gaddafi to attend the inauguration ceremony scheduled for February 25, 2010.
