Simferopol, February 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The parliament of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has called on the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers to take into account in the draft state budget for 2010 the funds needed for the Crimean local budget to reimburse losses connected with a ban on the gambling business in Ukraine.

A total of 58 MPs at first reading supported a relevant address at the first plenary sitting of the ninth session of the Crimean parliament on Wednesday.

The document noted that the law banning the gambling businesses in Ukraine was adopted on May 15, 2009. The law came into force on June 25, 2009.

"As a result city and district budgets had a shortfall of significant sums of tax payments. Moreover, the funds for the issued relevant licenses were retuned," reads a document.

The Crimean MPs noted that in 2009 the losses of the Crimean local budgets exceeded UAH 22 million, as a result local communities failed to receive funds needed for tackling social issues and developing populated areas.
