Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Oleksandr Cherpytsky as first deputy transport and communications minister, an informed source from the government has told Interfax-Ukraine.

A corresponding order was approved at a sitting of the Cabinet on Wednesday, according to the information.

The source also added that the incumbent first Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Vasyl Shevchenko has been appointed acting transport and communications minister.

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Yosyp Vinsky from the position of transport and communications minister in June 23, 2009, at the prime minister’s request. Vasyl Shevchenko, the first deputy minister, took over as acting head of the ministry.
