Lviv, March 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The court has extended the detention of Ihor Zvarych, the former head of Lviv Administrative Appeals Court, until May 9, 2010.

Kyiv Court of Appeals ruled this during consideration of a motion by the Prosecutor General's Office, Tetiana Turchyna, the press secretary of Zvarych's legal team told Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

According to Turchyna, the Prosecutor General's Office also lodged a motion for the court to charge the lawyers of Zvarych with completing their acquaintance with the materials of the case by May1, although the court rejected this motion.

Zvarych, the former head of Lviv Administrative Court of Appeals, was arrested on March 9, 2009 in his own apartment.

Zvarych is accused of taking large-scale bribes. The Prosecutor General's Office finished its investigation into this case and at present the defendant is being acquainted with materials of the criminal case.
