Yanukovych awards Shevchenko prizes to representatives of creative intelligentsia

Kaniv, March 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych has awarded national Taras Shevchenko prizes to 11 representatives of the creative intelligentsia on Mar. 9.

The ceremony took place in the literature memorial museum of Shevchenko, where a reconstruction project was underway for over five years. Earlier, President Yanukovych charged the prosecutor general with establishing the reasons why the repairs took so long and how the funds were used in the reconstruction project.

A total of Hr 1.3 million was allocated for awarding Shevchenko prizes this year.
