Ministries and departments should reduce their expenditures as much as possible, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"We need to look how we can cut expenditures as much as possible, so I would ask all ministries and departments to consider such a possibility," he said at a meeting with the government on March 12.

Yanukovych called on ministers and the heads of departments "to start with themselves" and pay attention to the use of official cars and reducing the number of their deputies.

In his opinion, it is necessary to clearly determine the number of deputy ministers.
