The shadow cabinet led by Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was disbanded at Yanukovych's request at a meeting with government representatives on March 12.

"We need to take a decision to cease the activity of the opposition government. I've put forward such a proposal given that most members of the shadow cabinet Е are present in this hall," Yanukovych said.

The government members who attended the meeting backed the proposal.
