Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Valeriy Khoroshkovsky has called for the decriminalization of contraband trade.
"The decriminalization of contraband trade is needed. This will allow to introduce the system that will help the state monitor the legality of goods movement across the customs border by economic entities, while representatives of foreign economic activity will bear responsibility for the accuracy of submitted documents regarding the country of origin of goods, their amount, customs cost, and the settlement of obligatory payments," he said at a coordination meeting between the heads of law enforcement agencies with the participation of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
