The government of Germany is ready to support the Cabinet of Ministers in its efforts to strengthen democracy and market economy in Ukraine.

The press service of the government announced this in a statement.

«You are assuming the leadership of the government at a time of significant challenges for Ukraine. The federal government will support you as a partner in adopting decisions aimed at further strengthening democracy and market economy,» Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel said in a congratulatory telegram to Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in connection with his appointment.

Merkel congratulated Azarov on his appointment and wished him success in performance of the tasks facing the government.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the parliament approved the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 11, including Azarov as prime minister.
