Azarov: Fight against corruption is primary objective for executive authorities and local government

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov considers fight against corruption to be a primary objective for the bodies of executive power and local self-government, the press-service of the Cabinet of Ministers informs.

"Think up a scheme to make bribes impossible. The stance "I do not take bribes" is not the attitude. Today we have all organizational, legal, and financial opportunities to create a non-corrupt management system," the press-service cited Azarov as saying.

A "common window" in the registration system of entrepreneurial activity and reporting, transparent state procurement and distribution of land plots are determining factors in building a non-corrupt system.

The government has placed Vice Prime Minister Serhii Tihipko in charge of outlining and coordinating the issues on simplification and modernization of the registration and licensing system, the press-service of the Cabinet of Ministers said.

As Ukrainian News reported, Azarov promised to sack ministers suspected of corruption.

President Viktor Yanukovych on March 12 said fight against corruption had to be of the high priority for law enforcement bodies.
