The committee for parliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union has proposed to widen the number of Ukrainian citizens to whom the advantages of agreements on a simplified procedure for issuing visas would apply.

Head of the parliament committee for European integration, Borys Tarasiuk, said this in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He noted that the 14th meeting of the committee for parliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union was held in Brussels on March 22-23.

"In our final document, we set out recommendations on how to widen the categories of Ukrainian citizens who could use the simplified procedure for issuing visas," Tarasiuk said.

He noted that the list of citizens who could use the simplified procedure for issuing visas must include representatives of non-governmental organizations and religious communities.

Tarasiuk also said that the committee also considered the issue of the drafting and adoption of a road map to determine the stages and certain conditions for talks on a free visa regime. According to him, work on this document will begin this year.
