The Constitutional Court of Ukraine has refused to start constitutional proceedings on a case on the constitutionality of a decree by former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko on conferring the title of Hero of Ukraine to Stepan Bandera.

The Constitutional Court ruled this on April 5, the court’s press service reported.

The Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea sent the Constitutional Court a submission on the constitutionality of the decree signed by Yushchenko on January 20.

The Constitutional Court said it had refused to start proceedings on this case because the constitutional submission didn’t correspond to the requirements of the main law and the law on the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
