The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on April 26-30 will hear a report on the Holodomor famine of the 1930s in Ukraine, the department for information policy of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has told Interfax-Ukraine. "From 26 until April 30 there will be a report regarding the approval of documents of a resolution [on the Holodomor]," the Foreign Ministry said.
According to the department, the delegation from Ukraine will include 12 main and 12 additional participants. The names of the members of the delegation are yet to be announced.
As informed, the previous leadership of Ukraine called on PACE to recognize the Holodomor of the 1930s as genocide against the Ukrainian people.
In spring 2008, the Ukrainian delegation submitted a proposal to discuss the issue of the Holodomor of the 1930s in Ukraine.
