Slovakia will support drawing up a road map for Ukrainians' visa-free travel to the European Union, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Kostiantyn Yeliseyev, and Ch airman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Slovakia, Juraj Horvath, was held on April 14 during a working visit of the Slovak MP to Ukraine.

A range of issues in Ukrainian-Slovak cooperation was discussed during the meeting.

"The chairman of the committee of the parliament of Slovakia noted that all of [his countries’] political parties support the development of a partnership and good-neighbourly relations with Ukraine, and he confirmed that the Slovak side supports the European aspirations of Ukraine," reads the report.

The sides also considered the state and prospects for the development of Ukrainian-Slovak cooperation in the consular and legal sphere.

"The Slovak representative noted the interest of Bratislava in the comprehensive liberalization of visa regime between Ukraine and EU states as an important starting condition for strengthening political, economic and humanitarian relations, and also said Slovakia supports the drawing up of a road map for Ukrainians’ visa-free travel to the EU.
