Victor Pinchuk has become the first Ukrainian public figure and the second Ukrainian in history put on the list of the world's 100 most influential people according to the Time Magazine.

Pinchuk was listed 7th in the Thinkers section of the magazine’s rating.

The magazine’s rating, "Time 100: The World’s Most Influential People," is one of the most authoritative world rankings published since 2004. This year, the magazine divided the list into four sections – leaders, artists, thinkers and heroes. The magazine’s rating also includes trendsetters – those who shape and change the world.

Pinchuk was the only Ukrainian in the 2010 list. While commenting on his joining the rating, he said: "It is a great honor for me to get into the list of the world’s 100 most influential people in such a publication as Time. This is a sign that you are working in the right direction. Participation in the ranking is also a certain sign for the whole of Ukraine. This is more international recognition of the fact that there is global-level potential in the country, in its civil society."
