Ukraine and Russia are planning to sign five documents on cooperation during Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Kyiv on May 17-18.

Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev said in the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday that "five draft documents have been prepared for signature at various levels."

"The first is a draft agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on the demarcation of the Ukrainian-Russian state border, the second is a draft agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers Ukraine and the Russian government on cooperation in the use and development of the GLONASS satellite navigation system, the third is a draft agreement on interbank cooperation between Ukreximbank and VTB, as well as a draft agreement between the Ukrainian Education and Science Ministry and the Russian Ministry of Education and Science on priority measures in the development of scientific and educational cooperation for 2010-2012, and the fifth is a draft program of cooperation between the Ukrainian Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Russian Ministry of Culture for 2010-2014," he said.

At ther same time, Kliuyev said that no energy agreement will be signed during the meeting.

"Five agreements of which I have told you will be signed. As for the energy sector, these agreements are being worked on and will not be signed on May 17-18," Kliuyev said.

Medvedev will pay an official visit to Ukraine on May 17-18, 2010.
