May 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has confirmed that Poland would continue supporting Ukrainian diplomats in aspiration for visa liberalization and drafting of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.

The press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported that Sikorski declared this on May 24 during talks with Ukrainian Foreign minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko.

The two ministers discussed bilateral cooperation, in particular, Ukraine’s aid to Poland to fight floods in southern regions of the country. The ministers also exchanged opinions on the boosting of trade between the states, which narrowed last year due to financial and economic crisis.

Hryschenko and Sikorski also discussed cooperation between Kyiv and Warsaw as a part of preparations for hosting finals of Euro 2012 European football championship.

The Ukrainian foreign minister said that relations between the two states have a strategic nature, and Ukraine is considering cooperation with Poland as one of the priorities of its activities and an important factor of the realization of the European integration plans.
