You're reading: 24 populated localities still blacked out after June 3 gale

Fourteen populated localities still remained fully blacked out and 10 partially in Lviv region as of 1700 on Friday because of strong gale that swept the area on June 3, OJSC Lvivoblenergo's corporate relations department told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the source, one 110 kV power line and eleven 6-10 kV lines are still without power.

Rescue and repair work continues. One hundred and ten people forming 31 brigades and 28 pieces of equipment are engaged in repairing damage from the gale.

According to earlier reports, 28 populated localities were fully blacked out and 24 were partially blacked out as of 0800 on Friday. Lviv’s Sykhivsky, Frankivsky, Lychakivsky and partly Zaliznychny districts, as well as Lviv region’s Pustomytivsky district, were the worst affected.
