The dates of a visit to Ukraine by the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, have been set.
Patriarch Kirill is to visit Odesa on July 20-23, the Patriarch in Ukraine Web site reported.
On July 21, he will hold service at the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa. On July 22, the Russian Orthodox Church head will participate in festivities in Odesa Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Patriarch Kirill is likely to visit Dnipropetrovsk on July 23-25 (or possibly July 26). On July 24, Patriarch Cyril is to conduct a divine liturgy on the square in front of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Dnipropetrovsk.
From July 25 (or 26) until July 28, Patriarch Kirill will be in Kyiv. On July 28, he will lead a divine liturgy at Kyiv Pechersk Lavra Monastery to commemorate St. Vladimir – the baptizer of the Kyivan Rus.
The program of the patriarch’s visit may change, according to the Web site.
The last time Patriarch Kirill came to Ukraine was on February24, to bless Viktor Yanukovych as he assumed the presidency.
