The commands and standby forces of the anti-aircraft defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Belarus have conducted joint exercises involving aircraft, the department for media liaisons of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine reported on Tuesday.

The exercises were held on June 8 under the general leadership of Air Force Commander Ivan Rusnak. The commands of the Air Forces of Ukraine, command posts, tactical aviation brigades, anti-aircraft missiles, radio technical brigades, and Mig-29, Su-24 and Su-27 aircraft were involved in the exercises. Four combat aircraft from Belarus also took part.

The main purpose of the exercises was to improve bilateral cooperation, in particular, in the commanding of standby forces from the anti-aircraft defense forces of both states while carrying out combat duty tasks, as well as exercises to achieve coordination between standby forces under various conditions.
