ASKA insurance company (Kyiv) decided to open a monument to insurance agent in Donetsk, Oleksandr Sosis, member of the supervisory board and the insurer's stockholder has told a news conference.

"On the sixth of July will open a monument to insurance agent," he said.

As to Sosis, the bronze monument will be opened in the center of Donetsk, on Shevchenko’s Boulevard.

Initially the company had planned to open the monument in Kyiv but never reached consensus with local authorities.

Yuru Detochkin, a hero from Eldar Riazanov’s motion picture Beware of the Car (Watch out for the Automobile) will symbolize the insurance agent.

Sosis stressed, the monument had no parallel in the CIS.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, ASKA insurance company paid out Hr 26.719 million in insurance compensations and raised Hr 72.971 million of insurance payments for the January-to-March quarter 2010.

In 2009, the company paid out Hr 136.6 million in insurance claims and attracted Hr 340 million of premiums.

The ASKA insurance company was established in 1990 as a closed joint stock company. It provides risk insurance.

89.25% of its shares belong to the Cyprus-based SCM Finance, while 10.5% are owned by Oleksandr Sosis.
