You're reading: Ukrainian, Serbian parliaments sign cooperation agreement

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn and the head of the National Assembly of Serbia Slavica Djukic Dejanovic met in Kyiv on Monday.

At a briefing following the meeting the Serbian speaker said that they discussed and signed a document on cooperation between the parliaments of Ukraine and Serbia.

"I want to say that we have agreed, that in addition to the usual cooperation in the framework of our parliaments we will develop cooperation in various sectors of the economy and industries which are very important for our two countries," Djukic Dejanovic said.

According to her, during the meeting they also noted the importance of further cooperation between the Ukraine-Serbia groups of friendship, as well as at the level of parliamentary committees for European cooperation and foreign policy. "We have a lot of conditions for further deepening of cooperation in all directions," the Serbian speaker stressed.

"We see Serbia as a very important country, as the partner of Ukraine at the level of our bilateral relations and settling issues, our countries are facing in terms of integration into the European community," the Ukrainian speaker said in turn.
