Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has stressed the need to reform the system of higher education in Ukraine.

"Of course, reform of the education system is needed, and this reform is again unpopular… But, there is no way out, we need to conduct it," he said at a meeting diplomats and businessmen in Kyiv on Thursday, while speaking about problems in Ukraine’s higher education.

Azarov also pointed to problems with the shortage of teaching staff at universities and the quality of education there.
