Femen protestors fined for fountain bathing protest against water cut off
Jul 16, 2010 at 16:22 | Interfax-UkraineOne of the women was cautioned for violating the rules on holding rallies, an Interfax-Ukraine reporter informed.
The Femen protestors said that they intended to appeal against the judgment of Shevchenkivsky District Court at a court of appeals and inform the prosecutor's office about use of physical force by law enforcement bodies to prevent the staging of peaceful meetings, demonstrations and rallies.
On July 15 the Femen protestors staged a protest on the Independence Square against hot water cut offs in the capital and rise of tariffs for housing and utilities services. Half naked women bathed in a fountain and displayed posters reading "No Tap Water – Let's Bathe on Maidan." Law enforcement bodies detained three protestors.
