Russian-Ukrainian An-158 to participate in Farnborough Airshow
Jul 16, 2010 at 19:18The new aircraft has already left for London, where it will take part in the in the demonstration flights program, the press service of Antonov State Enterprise told Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.
"The An-158 will be flying on the first two days of the airshow, including the opening day. It may participate in demonstration flights in the next few days, but it hasn't been finally agreed with the organizers of the show," the press service said.
According to president and general designer of Antonov State Enterprise, Dmytro Kiva, the company will present a competitive high-tech product to the international aviation community that meets all safety and environmental requirements and standards, as well as the wishes of its potential operators.
At the Farnborough International Airshow, delegates from Antonov State Enterprise are to hold talks with representatives of the aircraft industry and aircraft operators from various countries with a view to promoting their products and services on the international market. The company is planning to sign a number of agreements.
The An-158, a new Ukrainian-Russian 99-seat regional jet, is a stretched version of the An-148 aircraft. It has a range of 2,500 kilometers. It made its maiden flight on April 28, 2010. The aircraft is being tested now to operate in various climates.
The Farnborough International Airshow will last from July 19 to 25.
