Odesa, July 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A sailor from Ukrainian corvette Ternopil has been injured during the Sea Breeze 2010 military exercise, the press center of the command of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday, July 20.
The press center said doctors from Ukraine’s Ternopil corvette, the U.S. Navy frigate, the U.S.S. Taylor, and Turkey’s Yavuz frigate examined and treated the sailor. Interfax-Ukraine did not manage to get information about the nature of the sailor’s injury.
The sailor was taken by motor boat to the U.S. frigate, and a Ka-27 helicopter from Saky Naval Aviation Brigade of the Navy of Ukraine evacuated him from the U.S. warship to the military clinical center of Crimea in Sevastopol.
