Ukraine is ready to find a compromise for financing from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the National Bank said on its Web site.

"The compulsory request (letter of intention) has been sent by the Ukrainian government and the NBU, addressed to the IMF’s directorship. The signed documents show the Ukraine’s government’s eagerness to find a compromise between the NBU and the IMF, as well as develop a shared view regarding future economic and financial policy," the statement said.

The statement said that several preliminary conditions were met in order to achieve a positive decision for Ukraine including amendments to NBU legislations and the revocation of a decree on stimulation loans.

According to the NBU, preparations for the IMF’s new stand-by program for Ukraine was completed on July 16: the new program is expected at SDR10 billion (around $15 billion) provided over two and a half years.

The IMF’s board of directors will vote on Ukraine’s new loan program on July 28.
