Council of Patriarch Kirill gives recommendations on Russia and Ukraine cooperation

The Economics and Ethics Council of the Patriarchate of Moscow and All-Russia has called for the building of Ukrainian-Russian relations on the principles of effectiveness, justice and solidarity.

The members of the council are Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov and other representatives of the legislative and executive power of Russia and Ukraine, are well as members from the scientific circles of both countries.

The final document of a council meeting held in Kyiv on Thursday, July 29, reads that "the creation of a regional currency and financial system in the future may contribute to the rehabilitation of the economy and release from its dependence on raw materials."

The council noted the importance of "training, moral education and the timely promotion of qualified staff in the sphere of management and the economy, as a modernization break-through is impossible without them," reads the document.

In addition, the Economics and Ethics Council called on the mutual implementation of "priority development policy through reviving competitive branches of the national economy and the creation of new high-technology industries."
