Verkhovna Rada speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn is convinced that it is necessary to increase the role of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in settling troublesome security problems. Ukrainian speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn is convinced that it is necessary to increase the role of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in settling troublesome security problems, economic and humanitarian cooperation on the territory from Vancouver to Vladivostok, Lytvyn has said in his article devoted to the 35th anniversary of the OSCE creation published in the Holos Ukrainy.

Lytvyn called on OSCE members to make every possible effort to improve the structure and work of the organization, in particular, impart a full international legal status to the organization, reinforce interrelation between all three main security directions in the organization's activities, increase the strength of OSCE's cooperation with other international organizations, clearly define rules and standards to monitor the OSCE activities and make activities of its field operations more efficient and clearly defined in laws.

The speaker pointed out the importance of the strengthening of a role of parliament tools to stir up successful activities of the OSCE.
