You're reading: Kolesnikov: Lviv has great chances to host Olympic Games of 2022

Vice Prime Minister Borys Kolesnikov says that Lviv region has good chances to host Winter Olympic Games of 2022, the press service of vice prime minister said.

He pointed to the ability of the region to host the Olympic Games in 2022 during his trip to Lviv region where he studied Tysovets sport base.

He said that infrastructure in the region is very developed as Lviv is preparing facilities for Euro 2012.

On the whole, Kolesnikov same that Olympic Games have all chances to be held in the Carpathians.

At the same time, he said that the main task is to assure the International Olympic Committee of ability of the country to host the Winter Olympic Games of 2022.

Kolesnikov also together with president of the National Olympic Committee Serhii Bubka intends to visit Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions to study possibility of hosting the Olympic Games.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Viktor Yanukovych urged Kolesnikov to study Slavske resort’s ability to host Olympic Games of 2022.
