Poltava, August 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is expected to attend Sorochyntsi Fair on the day of its official opening, which is scheduled for August 18, the press service of Poltava Regional State Administration reported on Thursday.
The press service said that President Yanukovych would take part in the opening of the fair and hold a press conference. The National Sorochyntsi Fair will take place in the village of Velyki Sorochyntsi, Myrhorod district, August 17 through August 22, 2010. The official opening of the fair is slated for 1100 on August 18. The program of the event includes the Golden Mill festival designed to discover new talent and demonstrate national culture.
This year’s program of Sorochyntsi Fair includes the tasting of Japanese tea and sweets. In addition, master classes in ikebana, origami, calligraphy, and Japanese packaging design will be held for visitors.
