At 1520 on Friday a fire broke out in an open warehouse for the storage of containers at the state-run Zirka (Star) factory at the town of Shostka, Sumy region.
Due to strong wind and heat the fire spread across the area of 1.5 hectares of grass around the warehouse, the press service of the Emergencies Ministry of Ukraine reported on Saturday.
The fire was extinguished at 2110. No casualties have been reported.
The fire damaged and destroyed wooden, paper and metal containers in the warehouse.
The cause of the fire is being found out.
