The police of Kharkiv are investigating the disappearance of the chief editor of the New Style Newspaper, Vasyl Klymentyev.

Klymentyev went missing on August 11 after leaving his house, the center of public relations of the main department of Interior Ministry in Kharkiv region told Interfax-Ukraine on Saturday.

It has been established that that day Klymentyev left his house and accompanied by an unknown man drove away in a silver BMW car. Relatives of the journalist, appealed to police the next day, on August 12.

A criminal case has not been opened yet, the public relations center said adding that criminal proceedings are usually instituted ten days after the disappearance of a person.

Klymentyev, born in 1943, is the founder and editor-in-chief of the New Style Newspaper, which specializes in publishing materials on corruption among the representatives of military and law-enforcement agencies.
