You're reading: Ukrainian State Border Service to build new hospital in Odesa

Odesa, August 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Border Service is to build a new building for the Odesa clinic hospital of the southern regional department of the State Border Service of Ukraine, chief of the service Mykola Lytvyn has said.

A total of Hr 1 million will be allocated for the construction of clinic under the program for material and technical securing of the service, Lytvyn said at the ceremony of laying a time capsule in the foundation of the building on Wednesday, August 19.

According to Lytvyn, the opening of the new building will improve the range of medical services avialable to border guards and members of their families.

"There is a shortage of money in the fund, and that’s why we will search for other sources of financing to complete the building. At the new hospital department, those who serve [the state], their families, as well as retired [border guards], will receive free medical services," Lytvyn said.

According to head of Odesa clinic hospital Yuriy Popov, the construction of clinic will be completed by December 30, 2011.
