Kyiv, August 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Svoboda All-Ukrainian Association will nominate head of its Kharkiv branch Ihor Shvaika for the post of head of Kharkiv City State Administration.

Kharkiv city and regional branches of the all-Ukrainian Svoboda Association made this decision at a conference after deciding to take part in the elections of the city and regional councils, the association’s press service said.

"The current situation is characterized by insolence of the anti-national authorities and the agony of the so-called national-democratic opposition. This means that a public demand for an ideological force with a distinct national backbone is growing daily. According to unbiased opinion polls, the Svoboda Association may claim the majority in local councils in western regions. And this is the case even before the official start of the elections," Shvaika told the participants of the conference.
