Kyiv, August 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Labor and Social Policy Ministry of Ukraine has proposed that the pension age for women be increased from 55 to 60 years starting from 2011, within ten years, rising by six months every year, according to a draft law on amending certain laws of Ukraine, the text of which was published in the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia newspaper.

If the document is adopted, then, for instance, women born in 1956 will get the right to formalize pension payments at an age of 55 years and 6 months, those born in 1957 at 56 years and so on.

In addition, the draft law proposes likewise the postponement of other pension benefits for women by six months every year for 10 years. This concerns the right to receive preferential pensions, social aid, etc. The document proposes a simultaneous increase in the normative insurance period (the period during which a person is subject to state social insurance) for women from the current 20 to 30 years.
