The Cabinet of Ministers has approved an agreement with Cyprus on cooperation on tourism.

The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers announced this in a statement.

The agreement was signed in Nicosia (Cyprus) on June 26, 2009.

Under the agreement, the two countries will facilitate creation of cultural and information centers for studying foreign languages and culture on their territories and promote exchanges in the areas of drama, opera, ballet, music, and circus.

The two countries will also support organization of exhibitions and the performances of artistic collectives, organize "Cinema Weeks," and exchange of films.

They will also open each others’ official tourism offices on their territories, develop various types and forms of tourism, create conditions for attracting investments, and facilitate simplification of formalities related to the movement of tourists between the two countries.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, approval of the agreement by the Cabinet of Ministers is a condition for its introduction.

The document will come into effect after both countries perform the relevant domestic procedures and notify each other.
