Prosecutor-General Oleksandr Medvedko and Germany's Ambassador to Ukraine Hans-Jurgen Heimsoeth have said that constructive dialogue on the issue of extradition will facilitate development of Ukrainian-German relations.

The press service of the Prosecutor-General’s Office announced this in a statement.

"At the end of a meeting, the participants in it reached the common conclusion that constructive dialogue will facilitate further development of bilateral relations between the two countries," the press service said in the statement.

Medvedko and Heimsoeth met on Friday at the request of the German side.

Medvedko and Heimsoeth discussed protection of the rights and interests of German citizens, including during their extradition, during the meeting.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, officers from the Kirovohrad division of the Security Service of Ukraine detained on September 17, 2009, a 50-year-old citizen of Germany who is wanted on suspicion of committing several crimes in Germany, including forgery of documents, evasion of taxes, and obtaining loans from German financial institutions.
