You're reading: Yanukovych leaves on visit to Germany

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Monday left on a one-day official visit to Germany.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that in Berlin, Yanukovych was scheduled to meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel, Federal President Christian Wulff, Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, lay flowers at the Neue Wache (New Guard House) memorial, and also meet with German politicians, businessmen, and journalists.

The Ukrainian official delegation is composed of Vice Premier Sergiy Tigipko, Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko, Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Boiko, Interior Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov, and Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Serhiy Liovochkin.

Yanukovych left for Germany on a new presidential aircraft – the Airbus A319-115XCJ owned by the Ukraina state-run airlines.
