Ukraine will face anomalously hot summers for the next eight years, Chief of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Mykola Kulbida has predicted.

“If we analyze the forecasted summer air temperatures for ten years ahead, we can confidently say that a minimum of eight out of the ten next years will be hot,” Kulbida said during a Web conference organized by the Komsomolskaya Pravda v Ukraine Newspaper.

At the same time, he said there was no possibility of an extremely cold winter this year.

“A hot summer cannot be directly connected with a cold winter. The Earth has only one atmosphere, and everything depends on the redistribution of amounts of solar and other kinds of energy generated as a result of human activity. So, we are not expecting a cold winter this year,” he said.
