President Viktor Yanukovych has examined the economic potential of the Port of Hong Kong, the presidential press service reported on Saturday.

Yanukovych also watched a presentation film about the port’s operation.

The head of state then paid tribute to the Ukrainian sailors who died in the collision of the Naftogaz-67 tugboat with a Chinese cargo ship in 2008. At the site of the disaster, Yanukovych lowered a wreath into the water and paid tribute to the dead with a minute of silence.

As reported, Ukraine’s Naftogaz-67 tugboat sank near Hong Kong on March 22, 2008 after colliding with a Chinese cargo ship Yao Hai. Of the 25 people onboard, only seven were rescued.
