You're reading: Food poisoning cases rise to 67 in Yevpatoria, Crimea

Four more junior school children from School No. 12 in Yevpatoria, Crimea, preliminarily diagnosed with acute intestinal infection, were hospitalized at the department of infectious diseases at Yevpatoria Children's Clinic on Sunday.

Sixty-seven children were undergoing medical treatment as of Monday morning. Their conditions are of moderate and mild severity, the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry’s press service reported.

As reported, children have been admitted to hospital since Friday evening. All of them ate at the school canteen. The preliminary cause of the infection was improper food preparation. A total of 167 pupils use the school canteen.

The Ukrainian Health Ministry’s commission is working at the school, while experts from local and republican sanitary and epidemiological stations are taking a number of sanitary and epidemiological measures.
