The Ukrainian Economy Ministry has proposed to increase the limits for holding obligatory state procurement tenders from UAH 100,000 to UAH 200,000 for the purchase of goods and services and from UAH 300,000 to UAH 500,000 for purchase of labor.

The draft law on amendments to the law on state procurement was posted on the ministry’s Web site on Tuesday for public discussion.

"The adoption of the draft law would help unblock state procurement by customers, provide the proper conditions for state procurement and settle problematic issues of state procurement law administration by customers," reads an explanatory note to the draft.

The draft law also foresees the introduction of a free selection procedure to liberalize state procurement, taking into account the improvement of the competitiveness of domestic companies.
