Five flu vaccines have been registered in Ukraine and they will be delivered to medical establishments in two weeks for the vaccination of the population.

"There are five types of vaccines registered in Ukraine that can be legally used today," State Sanitary Doctor of the Health Ministry of Ukraine Liubov Nekrasova said at a press conference in Kyiv on September 29.

In turn, State Infectiologist of Ukraine Serhiy Kramariev said: "The vaccine will be available in the next two weeks."

He added that the population should take the vaccine in late September or early October, so that the body has time to produce antibodies to fight viruses.

According to him, the vaccines will be purchased using funds from local budgets. Those in risk groups – children, and people suffering from chronic lung, cardiovascular and neural diseases – will be given vaccines free of charge. The other people will have to pay for vaccination.
